This committee was newly established in June, 2025.
Both concepts currently being discussed—Industry 5.0, which is being advanced mainly in the EU and emphasizes a human-centered, sustainable, and resilient approach to industry, and Society 5.0, proposed by the Japanese government as a human-centered society that integrates cyberspace and physical space—are shifting their focus from mere “efficiency improvement” toward “collaboration with humans” and “solving societal challenges.”
In this transition, collaboration among organizations in the field of image processing technologies is positioned at the core for realizing applications in diverse areas such as smart manufacturing, medical diagnostics, logistics and traffic management, and agricultural robotics.
The Japan Industrial Imaging Association must evolve from being a “supplier of efficiency technologies” to a “promoter of a human-centered and sustainable society.” To achieve this, multilayered collaboration with industrial associations, academic societies, and policy-making bodies is essential.
The Associates Development Committee engages in partnerships with various other organizations and works to fulfill its role through activities such as information sharing, joint seminars, and cooperation in exhibitions.
